Set in the Montemarcello-Magra Regional Natural Park
Close to the famous Cinque Terre National Park, easily accessible by train thanks to a very good daily rail service, which provides more than 40 trains during the day.
Being set in the Montemarcello Magra Regional Natural Park, “Al Borgo” permits you to reach – by car or by bike through the River Park cycle tracks – in only 7 km the sandy beaches of Marinella and Fiumaretta.
In few kilometers you can reach the wonderful sea villages of Lerici, Tellaro, Fiascherino and Portovenere: from there you can have boat trips to the Cinque Terre, Palmaria Island and Portofino.
Not to forget a visit to the Carrara Marble Caves, which can be reached with a 15 minutes drive.
Close to Sarzana train station, “Al Borgo” is an ideal starting point to visit Pisa, Lucca, Firenze and Genova.
The city still maintains the image of the original medieval town, on despite of the later works of fortification such as the walls, the towers and overall the Citadel, which heavily modified the urban layout of the original town, giving it the appearance of a walled city, dominated by the massive fortress Firmafede.
